top swap question

    Hello. I have a 73 cj5. A local ad came up saying that they had a soft top with hardware and a windshield if needed from a cj-3. I was wondering where I stood if I wanted to put that top on my cj5. My windshield frame is pretty crappy, so I'm not too worried about having to purchase the extra frame. All in all, the price is definitely right for me to do some moderate alterations. Thanks. Steve

    It's not going to fit.

    You need a CJ-5 top for sure.

    There are major differences between any flatfender and a CJ-5. The only top that can be made to fit your CJ-5 that wouldn't now would be a later '76-'83 CJ-5 top w/ a '76+ WS frame from another CJ.
