fuel tank padding

    I am installing a rear tank with skid plate is there something that goes between the tank and the skid plate? Like a rubber pad or does the tank ride on the plate (metal on metal):?

    I ran a piece of rubber roof membrane under my straps on my 76 ford. It's been ten years and no problems yet. You definitely want somthing in there.
