So I have been accumulating build pics over the last year and a half and im finally getting around to staring this thread..
    Here we go..

This jeep was owned by a friend of mine in high school. Here is a shot from when he owned it around 2000, wheeling near Hartzel.

Here it is right after I bought it from his dad a year and a half ago.

    Test fitting the half cab..

In the process of tear down..

    Some random shots..

Wheel bearing cage from the driver front, needless to say their was some metal transfer..

Fully freshened T98/Spicer 18 and warn over drive..

Last June I sold the project to my dad, so now I have the pleasure of finishing it on his dime. :)
On to the more recent pics..
The front cross member was toast from years of hard wheelin. the only thing really holding it in was the shock towers

So we decided to replace it with this one I whipped up.

Old cross member all cut out.

    New one in

    Thats all for now.

Gosh I love these kind of threads. Looks like you're off to a good start. What's the second tub sitting in the driveway going on?

The light blue tub will be the dark blue ones replacement. The OG tub was thrashed. Chuck hooked me up with that one.

EDIT- if you look closely at the pic of the two tubs in the driveway you can see what I mean on the passenger firewall of the dark blue tub..

The motor will be a rebuilt version of the 225 odd fire that came with when I bought it. Its all up on the crane again ready to be taken to the machine shop this week.
Here is the only pic I have from when I first got the jeep.
Needless to say it was a mess..

Nice work! Keep the pics coming. I'm jealous of the nice shiny trans/Xfer case. I wish that was in my budget.

Ya - that old tub was pretty 'swiss' :) - glad to see the other one going to good use. I still have the frame to it in the shop, all nice and shinny - don't know what for yet ;)

Im almost done with frame work... knock on wood, as long as we dont find any more cracks..R)R)
Have to repair the two rear body mounts and grind a couple welds and I should be done, done.

Then on to the new body.

Well I haven't had a chance to update for a while, between work, the Commando and the rest of life its hard to make time for everything.
But were back on track and soooo close to that magic point when all the parts are have been acquired for reassembly.

Installed Herm's dual MC kit, my dad will be plumbing the brakes next week, then we mock the steering up and start on the body.
