360 exhaust manifold clearance

I just took off my fenderwell headers and put on a pair of stock manifolds, to solve the leaking problem, and now it looks real tight on the drivers side where the clutch linkage is. Just wanted to know if this is normal. Thanks

 

If you are using the 360 manifolds, I'd expect you need the 304 manifolds that go with the CJ. AFAIK at least the left side is different.

 

I did not know there where 304 manifolds! In the 4wdh mag it has the same part numbers for all year amc's. I hope the exhaust guys can bend it tight to make it fit.

 

The manifolds for 304/306 are the same with one exception. THe Driver's side manifold is CJ specific, so manifolds from a 304 in a j10 is the same a one as a 304 in a waggy and both are the same as the manifolds from a 360 in a waggy/j10.

BUT a 304 cj drivers side manifold is different. A CJ 304 Drivers side manifold will, however work on a 360 in a cj.

Long story short, on your cj put a cj 304 manifold on your AMC v8 reguardless of the displacement.

 

I just put a 360 in my 75 and I had to find a 304 drivers manifold to accomodate the clutch linkage. The 304 CJ manifold has a more centered outlet as opposed to a rear outlet on the 360 manifold. If you put them side by side, you can tell right away.

 

Anyone have a cj 304 drivers side manifold for sale....Cash!
