About 2 weeks ago I installed a set of Skyjacker 2.5" soft ride springs to my 80 CJ-5. A week later I installed a Warn 8274 winch which caused me to lose about 1/2" to 5/8" of height and the handling feels mushy going around corners. I would like to firm up the handling and restore the ride height. My friend gave me a set of springs that I could pull the leaves out of to use as add-on leaves to my front springs. My question is if I was to add just one leaf, where should I add it. My spring packs consist of 5 leaves. I was thinking of adding a leaf between the 3rd and 4th leaves ( counting from the bottom up).

My '80 CJ-5 originally had military wrap springs. If you can get access to those I would go with adding the #2 wrapped leaf to the pack.

As a matter of fact, the spring packs that I will be pulling the extra leaf from are from an 80 CJ-5 with the factory heavy duty option so the second leaf wraps around the rear eye of the front spring. So I will add the leaf in between the existing main and second leaves.
    Thanks for the reply.
