I've had a leak in my xfer case for over a year (losing about 1/4 pint of oil a week). Two weeks ago I was once again trying to find the leak when I notice oil coming out of my speedo drive gear sleeve where the cable attaches.

I pull the cable off and the sleeve and drive gear out to find a 17 tooth :? drive gear with one tooth broken. I checked the FSM and found that my xfer case should have a 15 tooth drive gear for the speedo. Thought this might also be why my speedo has been erratic at best. I ordered the proper drive gear and a new cable from Krage as the threads on the old connector and the speedo gear sleeve were boogered up.

Got the parts yesterday and spent about an hour this a.m. with a thread file to fix the gear sleeve threads. Got it all ready to go back together and decided to take another quick look at the FSM.

The FSM shows a speedo dive gear bushing on the exploded view, but my copy of the FSM is so bad I can't see what it looks like or when it goes.

Any one have some guidance before I button this thing back up?
