Can anyone identify this trailer for me? I only have these 2 pics right now. I've got first dibs on it and it looks like an M416 but I'm don't know my trailers. THanks!

Definitely not a 416, round fenders, 416s have fenders that look like a TJ rear fender flare shape (squared).

Civilian Bantam I'd guess, it has a tailgate, 416s don't have that either.

The trailer is a Bantam T3-C civilian 1/4 ton trailer, manufactured from 1946-1953 (perhaps early 1954) by the American Bantam Car Co. in Butler PA.

Go to these websites for more information:

Thanks guys! I spent hours today pouring over pics on the web and I came to the same conclusion - Bantam. I talked to the owner (until Saturday that is, when I become the owner) and he said its solid - no holes (even in the floor), only surface rust! Rolls great. Lights work (although dim). I don't even need to trailer it home! BINGO! I feel like I won the lottery!! I've been looking for one of these since I bought my CJ. Can't wait to pick it up!R)R)R)R)R)R)R)R)R)R)R)

    Congratulations on your new trailer.

If you haven't already done so, you should join the Bantam group on Yahoo.com.

Also, there aren't many Bantam civilian trailers out there that haven't been cut, drilled or modified somehow. Detailed photos of your trailer from all angles, inside and out, front and back, top and bottom, will be a tremendous resource for others with restoration projects. You can create an album on the Bantam group site at yahoo.com and post your photos there. I would like to see some photos. I keep a database for Bantam civilian trailers and would like to add yours.

I note from the photos you posted that your trailer does not have a hole cut for a right side tail light (Bantams were shipped with only one tail light, legal in that era). Does your trailer still have the original Arrow tail light? They are almost impossible to find.

Does your trailer still have the original Fulton hitch? Data plate with original rivets? What serial number/year is your trailer?

Well, she's in the garage! I paid for it yesterday and picked it up today (towed it 200 miles home with no problems!!). I took a bunch of pictures, but my camea cable is at work so I won't be able to load them up until Tuesday (MLK day off tomorrow). The identification tag says Bantam T 3 - C and the serial number is 25038. The box is in better condition than I thought, but one of the hinges is completely gone and the other is missing half. I only see 1 potential area in the floor that's weak. The rest appears to be surface rust. Looks like the trailer is 100% unmodifed including the much sought after Arrow tail light (from what I can tell). Not sure about the chains and such, I'll let you guys tell me when I load up pictures. Not sure how I found one in this condition in the rust belt!! Can't wait to share pics.....ah....the questions I'm gonig to barrage you guys with over the next couple months will probably seem unending!!!
