with the whole transmission thing. I'm hoping that it is not uncommon for T90/D18 combos to leak gear oil "a little bit" after a rebuild. Do the gaskets have to seal themselves though temperature or is it pretty much mean that if parts are dripping, something is wrong?

I haven't isolated the leak yet. Just noticed that there was some fresh oil on the cross member and a couple of spots on the street. I also found a couple of drips on the output yoke of the transfer case. Is that a common leakage spot? Please tell me yes...

I wouldnt worry just yet. Keep an eye on it and see if you can spot the leak source. When I rebuilt and reassambled mine I used copper gasket spray sealer on the shim pack and also polished the ever so slight groove presant on the front and rear yoke where the seals ride and I still have a very small drip at two spots.I dont necessarily like it but short of replacing the yokes and going to double lip seals I am going to live with it, usually looks worse than what it is.Yours will probobly always leak a little...as long as its not leaking enough to cause problems you should be okay, so long as you can tolerate it. Monitor it for a while anyways and see how things go for the next couple of hundred miles.

RTV on the splines? I know thats a common leak place.
My rebuild kit had felt gaskets in it as well as single lip rubber?

Don't worry unless it STOPS leaking. If it does that it's empty. :D

I read somewhere that a fella used 2 double lip seals along with rtv on the rear output. So I did this as I had a free flowwing steam there. Not anymore

The seal is a National Federal Mogul oil seal Part # 473229, referenced in Rick Stivers' Dana 18 rebuild guide.
