Well it's just about done. Need to figure out an "easy" but strong latch system.[IMG]

nice set up. The reason I hinged it on the driver's side is so my gas cap will be more accessable.Didn't realize, till I installed it, that it wouldn't have mattered anyway. Oh well. I ended up using a 6" long hitch pin, drilled two holes top & bottom in the bumper then welded a sleeve in it. Hitch pin runs through carrier into & through bumper pinned on bottom side.

The holder is 16 gage steel & the bottom is 1/4" plate. Inside, the bottom plate is mitred at the corners for drainage. The lock strap is 3/16" steel, hinged at the bottom and the top for ease of removal. I used an industrial type gasket material to take care of the rattling and it holds it in pretty tight.

The pivot point for the tire carrier is actually an axle from a GM 10 bolt. It was in my Jimmy till I snapped it. The bumper is sleeved w/ a piece of 1 1/4" .120 wall tube. They fit together nice & snug.
