Got word from one of the other local Jeep guys that the local OLD CAR Wrecking Yard just got in a couple of Commando type Jeeps. Called the owner and he said they are both worth saving. Got the 225 Put together for th CJ but that is still a long way till I can drive it. I figured I would Get one of these commando's throw in my Newly Re-Built Dauntless and drive it that way till the CJ is ready for the motor. Then I can Restore the Commando.

What should I look for apart fom the usual Rust in the Floorboards and Hat Channels?

    Pretty much the normal stuff.
    Front spring hanger frame crack's.
Some early years have a weak rear axle.
    Look for a D44.
Common rust spot is around the bolt holes for seats.
If its SOA sometimes the back springs are broke.
Open the drains for the Tcase and tranny see if their's water
Be careful, once you get one you fall in love with it.

Both of them were 1973 Bullnose variety setup for a V8. No dice for the 225.

Mmmm... bullnose. What's wrong with that, other than it won't accept your V6? Almost all were PS/PB with a 304, all have the Saginaw steering, lots with an automatic. All are D30 front, flanged D44 rear. Could be a good start for a project.
