Not sure how we did it, but it is in. Turns out the tranny jack is WAY too big for such a cute little transmission. Ended up jacking the Jeep pretty high to clear the shift tower. Eventually got it all slid in. Figured out you need to put the throwout bearing on the clutch fork BEFORE you try to line everything thing up. Got it all put together and noticed that the bolts that hold the cross member to the frame were all out of wack. Upon further investigation, the motor was sitting crooked and tilted forward because of the strap we were using to hold it all together. Jacked some more things up, took the strap off, shoved the transmission to one side, pried on some of the parts and eventually got it lined up enough for me. That is where we stopped for the day. It would have been almost impossible to do by myself. I couldn't even pick the thing up to put it on the jack.

Still have to put the drive shafts on, floor boards, and tighten some stuff. Quite a bit of work left to do....but done for today.

Good job!!!! Summer is coming faster then we all think. FYI we took my tub off, when a buddy and I pulled my tranny/tcase out a month ago, still waiting for the UPS guy to drop of the shims for the back of the tcase, before we take the tub back off to put in. I will admit it sure was easy to slide it out and lift it over a frame rail. Hoping it goes back in as easy.....

Sounds like I forgot to tell you that I (at least) remove the top of the tranny and all forks and fluids before mounting it...

Glad it worked for you though :)
