another 4.0 head swap thread....

here goes, got my head, intake/EFI junk. gonna run the clifford intake/header and get their 264 cam.

when i get into my .258, if i find any damage i am gonna get a 4.0 block and build a stroker. so we will see how it goes.

 

Very interested in seeing the write up on this one. I have had some valvetrain noise well ever since I can remember and will be going 4.0 head eventually. Right now though, I'm happy with the power improvement that the fuel injection has provided. I'm sure it won't last thoughR)R)

Not sure I want to do the cam though as that would require pulling the whole front end apart.

What did you get the wiring and computer out of for your swap?

 

nothing yet, i am not sure i will use the EFI, i may stick w/my MC2100

 

finished it saturday... so far:

runs alot better/smoother/not as loud
not as strong as my worked .258 head under 2k RPM... after that is seems to be stronger. no pinging

dont have my clifford intake yet so i had to do some grinding on the old one

when we did the head, we did away with the stock alternator and put on a GM one wire.
