I don't know if I'm posting this in the right place, but my CJ is a '77 and my AMC/Jeep CB is the same era.
I've got an AMC/Jeep AM/FM dual purpose CB/radio which I want to fit in the CJ.
That's the one they offered as an optional extra in the 70s and 80s
There are bits of fittings missing I'm not sure if it works yet.
The trouble is I can't find out anything about it, no user manual, no technical specs, no fitting manual.
Can anyone point me towards any documentation on this?
I suspect the CB output is on AM only which is illegal in the UK, but I only want to fit it as a period accessory, it wont get used much.

They operate on a different frequency not am broadcast. Used a special antenna and switched off the radio when the mic was keyed or incoming audio on the auto setting.

Try this guy. Found on an amc vendor page.

James, its a little confusing as what he has in a combo AM/FM/CB all-in-one radio but the AM/FM refers to the broadcast bands. I think that what he's referring legality-wise to is the modulation scheme, not he band. In Jolly Old the legal technical specs for CB radios mandate frequency modulation, not amplitude or single side band modulation as used in North America. Also it appears that in GB the channels are a bit removed from the frequency assignments used in NA.
