E-Brake return spring???

Alright, I have looked thru all the previous posts refering to the E-brake, parking brake on a driveshaft drum set up with a Dana 18 T-case. No luck on an answer.
Now here I am putting mine back together, I have all the internal parts and springs and adjusters. I am missing the spring that goes from the lever coming from the bottom of the park brake assembly to what I am guessing is a location on the frame. I can see that this is what would hold the handle in and keep it released while driving if I am understanding the 1969 Jeep engineer thought process.

Any info or assistance with this would be helpful on where I could possibly find this spring (if it exists).

I used a screen door spring and some thick wire I had in the shop. Still working fine after six years.
