I am getting ready to rebuild my 79 buick 231 engine. But I have been looking at buying one of these reman engines. The one that I am looking at is about $1100 for a long block and it comes with a 7 year 100,000 mile warrenty. Has anyone gone this route? Is this a good price? How did it run or how was the performance?

No clue on remaned engines but question, how are you balancing the 231s engine to the flywheel trans combo that you are using thanks?

I am using a flywheel from a 231. If I rebuild my motor I will have the machine shop balance everything together, If I go with the long block I think that it will need to be neutral balanced?
