I am finally wiring my engine back up in my 68. I am using the harness from my 71 for the starter/alternator area. I noticed with the 68 harness there is an extra green wire coming from the starter into the harness that my 71 doesn't have. What is that wire for? My 71 didn't seem to need it.:? My 71 does have the one wire conversion on the alternator. I don't know if that matters or not.

    Thanks

    Todd

Mine has two small wires that goes to the starter solinoid. One wire from the 'S' term to the start part of ign sw. the other (small green) from 'R' term on solenoid to + term on coil. This is to bypass ballast resistor in cranking mode.
