While we are on the subject, how about 10 inch self adjusting? Would that be a good upgrade from 9 inch? Then a person could use Kelsey Hayes wheels.

This deserves it's own thread (and it's not about 9" drum brake cylinders). :)

    Depends on your priorities.

The 11" brakes will be cheaper to buy and maintain, and will work better than the 10" brakes. I'd keep the 10" brakes on a Ren 1 restoration, where the wheels were important, otherwise I'd go with the 11" drums or disk/drum and find some other wheels.

my 10" stuff was all available at my FLAPS, for a reasonable price, YMMV. 10" self adjusters are pretty good brakes, IMHO

when you have 2 extra sets of them laying around, its a pretty good upgrade;)
self adjusters work a heck of a lot better that manual adjusting brakes in my humble opinion...

Almost anyhing is an improvement over 9" brakes, bought a postal, went to 10", then bought an old wagoneer went to 11" brakes, then changed the master to the waggy dual master....stops on a dime and leaves 9 cents change!!! Bet you never heard that one before...heh heh!
