Was all prepped to fire off the 6 but have a problem w/ the ign. key. When I pulled the column out of the M38 the key would hang up a bit, but I was always able to fire it up. The key moves a bit now but seems to freeze up. There is a little rod running down the column that is actuated when you turn the key....I'm thinking it could be hanging up???
Anybody have a idea of how I might proceed?
    Thanks, Jim S.

That rod is attached to the key part on one end. On the other it attaches to the ignition switch. You can unplug the ignition switch wires, take the switch loose and undo that rod. If frees up the turning of the key then possible the ignition switch is causing the problem.

Hey thanks for the help. I took the switch off and it was bound up. I took it apart and a bunch of little parts/springs fell out:rofl:. After several hours I was able to get it back together and installed....works like it should now:), real test will be tomorrow
    Thanks again, Jim S.
