I finally got to spend a little time, working on Odie, the past two weekends.
I got the old, home made crossmember cut out, removed the factory x-member from the '67 frame, modded it to fit in the boxed frame, got it welded in, and removed one of the motor mounts that a previous owner welded in for a small block. I still need to remove the other motor mount, remove the Dauntless motor mounts from the '67 frame, and weld them on Odie's frame.

The old x-member was stout but interfered with the grille and had to go.

Oh, yeah. That's an open knuckle, disc brake, D30, under the x-member, too.

Lookin' good John! How's the rest of the frame? Is it OK?

It looks like the rest of the frame is good. Those are your springs on the floor in the pics. I'm really putting a push on to have Odie ready to drive by next summer. It may not be completely finished, but I'm hoping to have it drivable.

Just let me know when the springs and brakes will be ready for me to pick up. I'll have to make another run to Junction in December for a site visit.

Well, nobody with a factory Dauntless needs to worry about their engine falling out. Got one of the factory motor mounts off the '67 frame tonight. Took me 20 minutes with the gas axe.
Ron, if I don't have the brakes ready for you when you're out here or we can't hook up, I'm hoping to make a trip to Denver soon.
