Looking for a Heat Shield Pic or Drawing

I'm hoping someone will have a picture or a drawing of the original style master cylinder heat shield - never seen one before. I understand it bolted under the Ross steering box. Recently, I installed Herm's master cylinder relocation kit, and though I think it only sits slightly closer to the stock exhaust setup, it is close enough to make me wish my JEEP still had the shield.

The kit also included a larger dual chamber MC, and I think it moved it a bit on the frame rail, but not more than an inch and a quarter or so. I only mention this to see if anyone has any thoughts as to whether the original style shield (if I managed to find or fabricate one) would still fit.

I don't believe there's any such thing. I know Pete never had one. The only heat shield was for the fuel pump.:v6:

 

Howard, thanks for the picture! I agree - it looks like I will have to make something, or just leave it as is. That picture makes it look like there would not be enough clearance between the shield and the frame to allow space for the slightly bigger MC.

 

I built a heat shield for my dual master cylinder from a license plate and a couple of hose clamps. Took a couple of trys to get it right, but I had plenty of old plates. Used tin snips to cut the plate then bent it to fit. Then used the hose clamps to secure the shield to the eaxust pipe. Sorry no pictures. It's not pretty but it is out of sight.

The security of the dual master cylinder is well worth the effort.
