Take a look at these. Is that a factory alternator setup? It appears that the oil filter was removed and the piping pinched off. What was in the location that is blanked off on the driver side firewall? What PVC system?

Alternator is swapped in, original was a generator. Say thank you to the jeep gods for that one. Blanked off spot is factory heater delete panel, same as on my '56. PVC system is there, it's that little valve on the side cover, plumbed with vac to the intake. They do come apart, IIRC just a spring and valve inside, sometimes get gummed up and stick. Yes, oil filter is gone, return line goes in the fitting on top of the timing cover.

There is a tube tapped into the side of the oil filler. I'll bet that was the PVC inlet from a filter at one time. The blow by is so great now it's no longer an intake though. There is a heater mounted on the passenger side. Is that an after market type thing? It looks as though the engine has never been out of the chassis. KSA

The side tube on the oil fill goes to a nipple on the upper part of the oil bath air cleaner. Didn't see one in the pic? Mounts on the firewall. Pass side heater is pretty common, several Willys heaters used there. Here's a link to some great f-head pics (although they're in 3B's):http://www.film.queensu.ca/Cj3b/Hurricane.html
