    Hi all,
I've searched but I'm still confused. - I'm looking to keep the military style tires on my 74 Cj5 with 11in drums. Problem is, the PO hacked out the two front M38A1 rims? so they'd fit over the hubs.
Are there any steel rims that will fit a NDT military style tire and fit over the stock hubs??
    I guess I need a 16X6 rim (can't go 15 right b/c of 11" drums right?)-
From what I've gathered, there is not but I'm looking to double check since this is all very confusing to me.
Is the only way to keep my military tires to keep my hacked out rims? (not a good idea right?) I plan on having this thing on the road more than on the trail...
www.willysjeepparts.com looks to have some military wheels on their site, but their rims are 5x4.5 ...
    TIA-
    Fred S

The wheel you currently have isn't a CJ wheel, I believe it's a M151 Mutt wheel.Any early CJ wheel (16x4.5) will fit your current tires, although I'd check brake clearance before buying a set. if you want a stock look, try and find 16" wheels off a Willys pickup or wagon, I think they were 16x5. Willys wagons were available with 11" brakes from the factory.
