Well, I just bought some more parts for my full floater swap. A set of axles, t90 and transfercase, and both driveshafts from a 63 cj3b. I pulled the cover on the trans and the gear lube looked like chassis grease mixed with gear lube. The syncros and gears looked good. The fella said no grinding, popping out of gear or whining. He parted his jeep out after the motor popped. Got all this stuff for 220. Will all of this stuff swap into my 1964 cj5? I sure hope so!

No comments as to fitment? I am sure someone here knows. I just hope I didn't buy a bunch of stuff that I can't use. Both axle sets have 5.38 gears so I assume the front is a 25 and the rear looks like a 44. The trans has t90a1 if memory is correct. Also has the twin stick case. I still am working on the pictures. Soon!

Sounds exactly like what is in my Sixty CJ5.
(though not sure on the t-90 if it is A or C)

What is the width of your frame rails, or maybe I should ask if the spring pads are the same distance apart on what you just bought and what you already have.:):hurrican:

Front axle may be a 27 or 27A. That's what the 3B CJ5/6 all had back then. According to the books, that is.R)

They are the narrow axles. What is the difference between a 27 and 27a? My 64 has a 25 in it with 5.38 gears.I assumed this was also a 25. Will the trans swap into my 64? I am nearly done with the front 11 inch brake swap. Should have it finished tomorrow. R) Thank you!
