    R) First of all I love this site. Lots of info. I am just not finding what I need so I am starting a thread to see if I can get the answers. My Jeep is going to be for trail running so the build up is geared for that.

    1. My first question is what rim/wheel can I use to move the tires out a bit so the Jeep is more stable on the trail? I am thinking the AR-767 but not sure is that is going to work or not or could I go with spacers.

    2. Where can I find a swing away tire carrier for my year Jeep? The rear bumper is welded on my Jeep so taking it off will be very difficult. Is there some place that sells rear swing away tire carriers that adapt to prexisting bumpers.

    Gratuitous side shot.

    3. Can anyone tell me if my tub is a '74? The PO thinks it is a '75. If you need more pics I can provide them.

    4. I am also looking for skid plates for my Jeep. Any links would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for all your help and this great site.

There aren't many, but even warn makes one that you can buy separartely and weld to current bumper. Theres a couple that are bolt on (can't remember name, flip through ctaalogs 4wd Hardware and Quadratec are good starters) but I like this one. haven't bought it yet- gotta wait for the 2008 Jeep budget- but looks good. www.tiregate.com . Company called Wilco. Mounts to a trailer hitch.

I like that for a swing away. Might interfere with departure angle a bit but I thing that would work. I found this site and in fact just got off the phone with Mike. He says that the prices are $219 for the Trailmate I and $319 for the Trailmate II. http://crossenterprises.com/ This actually looks like what I need.

    1) to get any measurable increase, swap in wide track axles. Or use a widetrack for the front and spacers on the rear to match the width.

    2) For an existing bumper it would probably need to be custom. Here is how I had mine made. http://www.hudsonhawk.net/jeep/tc11.jpg

    3) 72 thorough 75 were cosmetically the same with only minor changes. The only way to know for certain is the VIN.

    4) Mine were custom made to increase breakover clearance. The stock crossmenber is stamped metal and not very strong when the Jeep lands on it.
