I took apart the ross gear box without thinking how hard it would be to put back together. I have new bearings and gaskets for it. Any advise about putting it all back together? Seems like getting the worm gear in the right position is the key to it all.

I just did mine recently. I didn't really think it was that big a deal. I had my sector shaft removed though as well, which probably makes things easier.

Once the new bearings are on the worm gear, just slid it in until the bearings are seated and put the sector shaft in after.

Once you get the bearings in place it goes back together rather easily. Make sure your sector shaft is centered on the worm before closing it up so you can put the pitman arm back on in the right position.

Ok got it back together. Three hours if swearing like no other. Of course i had to do it the hard way with the sector shaft still in place. Now i need to fill with fluid and ill be ready to start the next phase.
