my next silly question Carburetors

Hi,
has anyone used the new carburettors sold by Omix-Ada. i have a F head engine 134
my CJ6 has a GM Stromberg on it of a Holden sedan and i would like to change it the the original.

i havent used a new one,still running the orignall carb,but the solex seems to be the carb of choice for the f-head and the L-head

 

I expect the carb from Omix-Ada will be a Solex, not the OEM-style Carter YF.

What's wrong with the Stromberg? It's a good carburetor.

If you want the exact original type of carb, AFAIK your only option is a good used YF from a F134. Many here in the USA are running the Solex though, and are happy with it. Search the archives or ask.

 

that sounds like a pretty darn good reason,time for a hood scoop or a body lift so i am confused is this with the 4 cylinder engine or the v6,if it is with the 4 cylinder the solex to the best of my knowledge is a direct bolt on replacement will accept the factory aircleaner and all,but they make 2 one for the l head and the other for the f head,if itr is the v6 i canot help you there just because i dont know

yes i have a 134 fhead.
hood scoop or body lift i couldn't possibly destroy my car with either of those
