I finally fixed mt steering colum on my '75, the bushing at the bottom was plastic and was worn out. I looked everywhere for a replacement. Since no one makes one I had to improvise. I tore it down and found that the steering shaft was 7/8" in dia. and I mic'ed the I.D. of the colum and it was just under 1 1/16". I went to the local Tractor Supply and found a bronze flanged bushing that was 7/8" I.D. and 1" O.D. it fit the shaft perfectly but was just a hair loose in the colum, I spread a little JB weld on the O.D. of the bushing put it together and let it set. I got it back together and what a difference. Took almost all the slop and vib. out of the wheel. The bushing size is 7/8x1x1-1/4x1 and is labeled as Hillman brand. hope this helps
