So who likes their Skyjacker Soft Ride 4" lift?

My rear fenders can't take it anymore. The 33 x 12.5 have been dealin' them a beating and I finally got some extra $ to get a new lift.

    Been reading mixed reviews.

    Thanks

I ran the 2.5" and liked it alot, combined with Rancho 9000 adjustables.
The lift did sag a bit in the rear due to heavier-than-stock tub and accessories... I compensated with longer shocks in the rear.
The 2.5" gave excellent flex and a good ride.

That's something I'll need to consider as I have a rack on the back with a 2 5 gallon cans and a 35" spare on a steel wheel.

Pretty sure Lynn meant longer shackles.

Was wonderin'. I guess the best way to go about it would be to install the lift first, then decide on shackle length?

I had a 2.5" in my previous Jeep and I really liked it. Instructions were really good. They make a good product. I would assume the 4" is just as good.

Anybody have the 2.5 with 33x12.5? Any rubbing issues?

No fender rub behind the rear wheels?

I ask cause I'd rather go with the 2.5 to keep the CG lower, but not if I keep whackin' the fenders.

I dunno about 33" tires but I run a skyjacker 4" lift, 4" shackle lift, Reversed front shackles, and 35x12.50 swampers on my '74. check out the link in my sig.
IMO, the 4" is a scary thing on the street or any sidehill. Leans WAAYY more than it should. Rides really good, compared to what Ive had as stock suspension on other CJ's.
I need it put on stiffer shocks than the SkyJacker shocks that came with it. Might try some RS9000 air adjustables.

As for rubbing, I (with 35x12.50 tires) had to cut the front and rear sheetmetal to the max to keep the rubbing to a minimum. Installed TJ rear flares to cover the cuts.

I've got the 2.5" Skyjacker Softride and it really works well - good flex and good quality. My old springs were really sagged out so I actually got a lot more than 2.5". I've been running 33 x 12.50 super swampers for years and there's enough room but not a lot extra. I put 5/16" spacers from NAPA on the rear to make room for tire chains. The width and backspacing on the wheels can make all the difference.

I would go longer shackles and/or body lift before I would go 4" lift.

On my '71 w.2.5" Skyjacker, the 33s rubbed the tub (inside the wheelhouse, they all do that when stuffed/twisted) when stuffed, but that was the only place.
Oh, if you have side exit dual exhaust, you might need to go to shorter 90* turn outs. I had to do that when I went from 31s to 33s.

    Thanks Guys!

I've decided to go with the 2.5" and help keep the CG lower.

Tire rub doesn't mean $h!* if I roll over cause I'm sittin' to high.
