First fab project with the old arc welder that was a freebie. $25 for the stick of 1 1/4" 1/8" wall square tubing, $40 for the 80's Dodge van seats, some scraps and some 7018 rods.

I think you need to get a chop saw, that filet knife must be hell trying to cut the steel for this project ;)

The filet knife was within reach when I dropped the rectangular nut beside the gas tank.

You mean you actually retrieved the nuts and bolts from No-Man's Land???? It is like a graveyard next to my gas tank, nuts and bolts never to be found again ;)

I made this nut myself. You can see one laying on the floor in pic #3. I wasn't letting that one go.

I like the your idea. Does it flex in the center if you have two large people in the front seats? R)

Actually I can not notice any flex when I jump up and down on it. I was planning on putting a leg down in the center there but now I don't think I need it. One of the benefits of 1.75 tube. The other is that a 1/2" socket fits inside the tube easily to tighten the seat nuts. I actually had to install the drivers seat onto the frame before attaching the frame to the body due to the factory fuel tank.
