how do YOU advance your HEI

    I was reading about HEI stuff. I just have the regular Vac. advance, but read that it is to sensitive and may advance to much. Do you guys run the regular Vac. or an adjustable set up? What happens if I dont run the Vac. at all? I dont want to screw my engine up advancing to much nor do I want to mess up my milage and power. One of my pals just bought the one out of the classified section and we want to get it perfect. thanks again and again and....

    You don't have to run a vacuum advance on the Jeep. All it really does is help with fuel economy. It's not a necessary item. Zed outlined here once how he blocked his off and didn't use it.

    Mine's an adjustable unit. It wasn't that much, $25 from Speedway in Lincoln.

    35* of total advance.
