New springs & old spring perches

(I searched, I promise: I remember seeing something about this but couldn't find it)

New BDS 2.5 lift springs, 70 CJ5 w/stock Dana 44 in rear. Spring perches don't seem to want to accept the centering pins on the new springs. Front no problem... any suggestions??

 

I had the same problem in reverse with Superlift springs. The rears were fine but the fronts wouldn't go all the way down. It seemed there was a lot of rust and gunk in the holes. I cleaned them up with a Dremel with a ball shaped grinder on it and everything was good.

 

going to try that this am. got frustrated yesterday, you could have bought a jeep project cheap!

please inform me about the ride with the new springs. I am Looking for new springs in front but don't know what brand will ride soft and flex a lot.
