I know this may be taboo here, but I am looking at my '61 CJ5 and the frame is just too far gone...I am looking at stretching it out by going with a YJ or TJ frame and doing a comp cut on the rear quarters...this will also allow me to notch the rear fender quite a bit to give all 6'4" of me more legroom and I wouldn't need to worry about tire contact due to the stretch...just wondering if anyone has attempted this?? heck maybe I'll just fab my own chassis and toss on the sheetmetal which is in surprisingly good shape.

You will have to extend the sheetmetal lot, since the nose is the short nose. Just takes time and effort to do it. And another issue maybe the rear of the TJ frame has a real bent up rear sectino that may interfere with the flat CJ rear floor.
