Are the fuel pumps different?

    The motor I'm putting in has a bad fuel pump. I was going to take the one off the motor I pulled but the pump seems to have a little longer arm, and doesn't want to sit flush on the block. The old block casting number is: 806279-W 12-D-AR, and the new motor has the markings:
    646228-W-13-D-AR, The pump I took off has a glass bowl and the other one doesn't. The old block does have a protruding mount that sticks out about 1/4". The pump I took off has the markings 4698, will I be better off to buy another? if so where would I get one. thanks, Fergie:)

    sounds like L4-F4
    pump mounting and arms should be the same
