225 alt. vs. 231 oddfire alt

    I know this is probably a dumb question but what is the difference between a 225 OF altenator verses a 231 OF altenator? What are the amp ratings? I wa wondering because one of the guys at work asked me and I did not know :oops: Thanks for any help.

    original 225 a Motorola unit, 37 amp ?
    231 a Delco unit , 55 amp ?

    my orginal is a delco. mounting might be different.

    My original was a Motorola, the Delco 64 amp slipped right in the mount and fit perfect. Didn't even have to change the belt.
