Hey, is it just me, or is it difficult to find a station nozzle that will seal and deliver fuel on all of the Jeepsters? Some times I spill as much as I get into the thing, or I just quit and drive away looking for another station where I might have better luck

I have what seems to be a homemade gas tank. The PO said he believed it to hold 40 gallons. In the four months we have had the Jeepster I have not had the patience to go for a fill up, so I do not know. The fuel filler neck/vapor return line is either stock of nicely fabricated.

I have thought of fabricating an angled recessed fill port like on my "47 wagon.

Sounds like you have a trap like under sink in the filler line. When you try to fill the air in the tank cant get out so it wants to burp. Look at the filler line and make sure it has no low spots.
My dad has a 67 Commando and has no problem

Thanks for the thought. No low spots. It is a short and nearly verticle drop into the tank. No blockages, but the immediate near 90 bend of the filler neck might be a part of the problem. I am thinking the angle of the filler neck is so acute the gas cannot get in, backs up and triggers the shut off mechanism on the pump nozzle.

Just talked to dad tonite he said on his 69 commando he found a gas can filler nozzle in the filler hose, it was slow filling,
He had to remove the filler hose to get it out.

Good thoughts both. I was hpoing to pull the filler neck this weekend, but must leave town instead. Perhaps the following will work.

    Thank you
