I am parting out a 68/69 CJ-5 and in pulling the Tranny today I was surprised to see a Back-Up light switch. The Tranny is marked T90-A1. Is the back-up light the only change for the -A1 tranny or is there more to this? I was going to keep it around as a spare for the 62 CJ-3B but if it is not correct I will sell it off.
Also the T-Case is a single stick, can the twin stick shifters be mounted in place of the single stick? again I wanted to keep the T-Case as a spare but now I am not sure if it is worth holding onto.

Yes, you can twinstick the transfer case. You might pm nickmil he often has twin stick kits for sale. I think all T-90 towers have T90-A1cast in them, but I'm not sure. I think it'd be fine to keep it with a back up switch.

my t86aa ( '66 had the casting area for the switch, but not machined out. ) As far as the difference(s) on the -A1 tranny, the gear ratios are different, the tower is the same on the 86/90 tranny.
