So I stripped the donor jeep down to the frame this weekend. Planning on implanting most of the driveline into the 6. I pulled the ford 289/T18 1B/D18/overdrive as 1 unit. Planned on draining the oil from the diffs tonite and popping them open to see what I've got.
Motor is strong/ tranny shifted alright...other than changing fluids in the trans,TC,etc what else should I be looking at while everything is sitting in my garage?
This is my first build of this magnitude w/o the benefit of considerable help so just looking to learn, and get it right:)

Check the oil you are draining for any metal particles and then inspect all the gears in your tranny and tcase for chipped teeth and make sure everything spins freely and you should be in pretty good shape. You can also take this opportunity to replace any leaky seals on any of that stuff. Good luck!

Seals - gaskets, all a good idea to replace now. Like stated, verify levels and condition of what your taking out. I allways like to drag a magnet in the fluid as it sits (or pour it over one as it drains) to see any fines that might be in it.
