    Morning,

I'm putting my 75 CJ5 (it's got a 76 glass body) back together and the filler neck is missing. Probably was thrown out because of the Vermont Lock-tite (salt+age = rust) An hours search on the net only yields necks for 78 and above.

On the other hand I have a fairly new tank out of a 79 CJ7 but it doesn't really fit.

I've got the tank and the filler hoses so it just makes sense to keep it. I just can't find the filler neck and grommet. All comments and questions are welcome. TIA

Some of the parts to that setup are going to be very hard to find. AFAIK there's no source for the filler neck (the part that protrudes from the body) or the vent hose fitting that goes into the hose, other than a junkyard. Pretty sure you can get the later style filler that's recessed into the body ... I've seen that used on one or two intermediates.

    Tim,

Thanks for moving the post. I realized it was in the wrong place when I hit submit.

Ok... I know what you mean about finding the part for the 75. I have all the other parts for the later model but the dilema is - new stile tank doesn't fit in frame. How have you seen it done? Modify the tank? Reduce the hoses? I'm all ears on this one. I do really good with picture too. Thanks again.
