225 dauntless vs 134 L head in cj 3a

    I had a cj3a with the buick v6. The engine fit well and did work well, lots of power. The only problem I had was getting things to work such as the clutch, had to make my own linkage. I sold the jeep to buy an m38 that is all stock and have not looked back since. (the m38 has the L-134)

    For climbing and the aforementioned higher speeds you certainly can't beat the V6. For level ground, not extremely hilly terrain the 4 cyl. has ample power.

    I had/have both I like the 134 I liked the 225 for the power and the uniqueness, call me fickled.:) I do know you won't be happy until you find what you like. If you think you want that little V6 please go for it(looks like you have)but if the four is ok with you don't go to the trouble of a swap it won't be worth the trouble. That probably wasn't much help, huh:rofl: good luck:beer:

    nah i appreciate all feedback, i'll post a picture of this new boat anchor once i pick it up on monday.

    I'm going in that route, and I have the :hurrican: F-head. Got a 4.3L I'm gonna attempt to put that in, along with a 465. Best of luck to ya, and keep us posted!
