Bought a 14' canoe and didnt want to lay it on the Bikini top. Glued together some 1/2 " pipe along with drilled plates so it can be removed to mount full top. [IMG]

Very Nice!. I have a 14 ft canoe and have thought about doing the same thing. I like your design better than mine. Thanks for the pics.

Nice. I plan on having a rack that comes off the windshield and someplace else for the kayaks/canoe... once chia gets done.

Add this to the list of ideas I'll steal from you when I finish my fab work this winter (along with your under-hood storage and tire carrier).

Attaching the front rack to the windshield frame sure would be a lot easier but you'll lose the ability to drop the windshield down.

The way i have seen that if i ever get a canoe or kayak i will do. PRetty much the front and rear bumper has receivers. You make 2 "Y"s one for the front and one for the rear and they will support the canoe. You weld on a horizintal piece and slide the "Y's into teh recievers. You can have the windshield down and no problems of interference :)

Only when you make the rack nonremoveable and you have the canoe on the roof.

Sorry. I meant when the canoe is on the rack.

I knew what you ment. For me to get one of my boats to the water unless I am at the beach means 20 mins at least driving at 45mph, so windshield would be going up.
