Again with a PS question

I thought I was done but as I finally got the Jeep out for a good test drive this evening the steering is so tight as in hard to turn. It feels like the gear box is working against me. The lines are correct, pump is filled and system was bled. Where do I start?

 

Is it a new pump and gearbox, or a used one? Does it kinda feel like your trying to turn without the vehicle on? Maybe the pump insn't putting out any pressure.:?

 

I have another pump so I could do a switch. The gear box felt fine when off when I tried to turn it. Yes it's a 83 CJ5 setup going on my 74. And yes, it's almost worse then the manual box. :?:?

 

Left for the beach so this problem will have to wait a few days. This is were I am as of Thursday.

Hard to turn wheels. Worse then manual box while moving. Pulled return from pump and it squirts when engine is on. Gear box shaft turns easy by hand prior to install.

Would the box allow the fluid to bypass or bind up? Could the pump be in the equation? I do have another new pump that can be switched.

Nope, had time Sunday - pump was bad.(bone yard pull). Have a new pump coming in this week. Put in a 1983 pump off a CJ5 and made it work for testing reasons. One finger will turn the wheel even when not moving. Thanks!
