Just wanted to share some photos and get some feedback. Many of you have probably done this a few times, but it was my first attempt at pulling apart my engine to some degree. Wasn't too major but I removed the carb (Rochester 2GC) so I can get it rebuilt. I would do it myself but I want it to work afterward. :) Removed the intake because of gasket leak at the back of the engine that was soaking everthing below with oil. You can see the gasket was folded into the engine on the back corner. Anyone have opinion on the buildup on one of the ports on intake? Bad spark plug making it rich? I also noticed the cam shaft seems to be discolored on one side of most of the lobes. I ran it low on oil for a bit... :( Maybe heated things up a bit? Well that's probably plenty... I forgot how much I enjoyed getting my hands dirty now that my daily driver is a Nissan... Thanks for the feedback.:v6::)[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Buildup in the ports is normal. Exhaust gas runs through them.
