    Hey again all,
Sorry for asking so many questions but you guys here are just so friendly and speedy with responses I can' help it.
I am looking to get some new tires for my cj3b. I found out today it does not have the stock engine in it but a engine from a cj3a. The shorter engine..I think and L134 Flathead or whatever.

Anyways What is the biggest tire I can get away with with the stock drive train. axles too. I believe 4.27 gears. T-90 Tranny and Dana 18 transfer case.
    Any info would be great.

The tires I am looking at are just AT tires so they are not swampers or anything.

    Thanks in advance

I believe 31's would do nicely with your combination.
Do you drive the Jeep on pavement ?

the body should also be a little higher than stock to run the 33's

33's would be fine. I run 35's with the stock drivetrain (and plenty of lift!). I lose a lot of power on long hills (jn high gear) but they do great offroad and around town.

I just put the Coopers on my 5. Only had them offroad in dry conditions...work well so far. Howl a little on the road, if that matters. I went with them to keep my sidemount spare and the old school look. IMHO, they would look great on a flattie. I've got a friend who runs them with an Fhead, T90, 5.38's, he moves right along. There should be some pics of them mounted on my 5, search for "tire holy grail" in the intermediate forum, if you want to see them on a jeep.

I had them on my '62 w/ the F-head as well. 7.50x16", roughly 32" tall, nice tire. Did well off-road for me and on road both.

I'm runnin' 7.00-15 Goodyear Mud tire that looks similar to the coopers, they're about 31" overall, not exactly the same height. Had to go to a 15x7 rim to keep the tire from rubbing the frame at full turn. Don't drive on road (not legally), but it's been pretty good in the muck.
