    Hey
I found a guy that has a 1971 cj5 fiberglass tub for sale and was wondering if it would fit on a 1955 cj3b? How hard would it be to convert it if i had to? any info would be great
    Thanks

No it won't work .The cj3b tapers at the front of the tub,the cj5 tub do's not.It would take alot of work to make it fit.

I disagree, the frame is nearly identical between the 3B and the CJ-5, the only real difference is in length.

IMHO, I would keep the 3B as stock-appearing as possible, they are getting more rare by the day and they are one of the more desirable early Jeeps. Maybe buy a replacement steel 3B tub?

    I neglected to mention:

If you chose to go that route, you would need the CJ5 fenders. hood and grille to make it all fit, and I think the CJ-5 body will be about 4-6" longer in the rear, so you'd have to fab up some kind of mounting system/rear crossmember.

If it's a really good deal, any possibility you can buy it then resell it? Easy Jeep bucks!

I'm sure one of you guys would love it! Maybe the dude that basically peeled off his tub and fit it in his trashcan? R)

RE CJ5 Other parts: Getting all that, you'd have it looking like a Kit-CJ5 attempt on a 3A frame.
