I am working on a 1956 CJ5 Willys jeep. I have a new bell crank kit (Springs, washers, felt) I am using same tube which was in good condition. I remember the washer setting in tube on cotter pin, spring, washer, felt on either side. One of my old felts was really flat, the other side was chunky. the kit came with 2 chunky felts. She don't fit in on one side (Frame side) Am I supposed to cut i felt in half? Even with the spring resting on cotter pin it will be tight. I can supply pictures if necessary.
    Thanks
    -Dave

Do you mean "drag link" repair kit? Is this the long arm that runs from thw pitman arm on the steering box down to the bellcrank itself?

I put same assembly in my 61 . had to shorten one of the springs to make it fit.
