This is not an easy engine to find parts for... Does anyone know what parts are interchangeable with the 225 or 231 V6? I'm trying to find an oil pan gasket. Is it the same one as the larger V6s? Do I need to order this from one of the trusted sources listed here on EarlyCJ5? Thanks for the input. Oh by the way.....GOOD MORNING!! :D

The blocks are different, I'd suspect the oil pan gaskets are as well.

No, they're not easy to find parts for unfortunately. Very few parts interchange.

True, I've done that before on my 225 in a pinch. Worked fine. Just a mess to clean up when you remove the pan.

FYI. I spent some time at PepBoys and found out that the 62-63 Buick Special came with the 198ci V6. Many of the parts needed for my Jeep can be found by asking for parts for this model Buick. Some stuff will still be hard to locate, but this helps. R)

With this engine, internal stuff (if necessary) may be hard to come by. Kanter Auto may be your only option there.

I had a 198, but never ran it. Had a rod knock, wasn't worth the $$ to fix it. If you're runs, run it. :)

If you need parts - PM me and I'll see what I have. I have pulled 2 198's for various reasons, but kept them around as some parts are real hard to find.

Looks like I need to replace the radiator. I flushed out the system, inspected the thermostat, water pump, etc. The radiator is really clogged up. Local radiator shop says they won't touch it because due to the age and small leaks already existing on many rows it will probably just fall apart if they try to rod it out. It's a Harrison 2 row. Doesn't look like OE. Homemade brackets were holding it in place. I would like to replace it with the same radiator because it looks bigger than the original. Any ideas?

Picked up a used/rebuilt radiator from a local shop for $70. The inlet and outlet are offset on opposite ends which is what I wanted. The original had them both on the same side which doesn't cool as well. After finding a hose that fit and bolting everything back together all is good (knocks on wood computer desk). Temp is staying around 170-180. It did go up to about 200 while idling in the Jack in the Box drive-thru :) but that was it. What a relief... Thanks for the input everyone.
