I've never installed one of these before. Is there a way to vent the air out of the switch?:v6:

I have replaced them without bleeding the brakes. It could leave a little bubble though. I don't think there's any 'official' way to bleed them other than to bleed the whole system.

You might try having someone push lightly on the brake pedal as you unscrew the old, as the fluid seeps/squirts out, quickly screw in the new one. The difference between seep and squirt is why "lightly" is the keword in this post. Dont's let up on the pedal pressure until you've gotten the new one seated. Then replace fluid.Gets messy, watch the paint, but this method worked like a champ on the old VW's I used to play with.

Do they have to mount upright? I'm thinking I could mount it upside down, bleed, then turn it upright or leave it that way if it doesn't matter.:v6:

Orientation doesn't matter, except if the port faces down fluid could drain out and give you a big bubble.

    Uhh, what?

Yep, hydraulic pressure brake switch. Got them from Summit but they are available elsewhere. Probably get one from a FLAPS. Summit sells 2, one from Painless and one from Standard. Probably the same part but you'll pay a buck and a half more for the Painless one.:v6:
