I have a 1968 Commando V6 and the alternator bracket is a bolt with some washers threaded into the block. This is most likely a cheap fix by the PO. What other buick engines run the same brackets? I heard some 350's did? Does anyone know for sure?

    Randy,

I'm pulling apart a 71 with the 225 in it. If you want I can take some pics of how mine is mounted so you can compare it to yours.

Buick 231 and 350 are the same right up into the 80's.

He's right, just make sure they are rear wheel drive cars that you take them off of. They used the 231 in Chevys too!
