My name is Mike I'm new to this site so please take it easy on me if I ask something that may seem obvious.

I own a 1946 CJ2a with a 327 chevy motor and some other cool mods. I would like to add power steering and have looked at all the tech boards with no success. I dont want to spend a thousand bucks either. Would some one please tell me the type of steering box. and pump that I need to make this swap. Also please include what year vehicle I should be looking for to get the parts from. All answeres to this delima will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks Mike :)

I extended the front frame rail up, I ill do the same to the passenger side and incorporate the winch mount into it, like a hidden winch. No where near done, and it looks funny right now, but it will be clean when done.

The steering box is a bog bore J20 box I think, I wouldn't use a big bore one again in the future though, to dang big.

There is no steering stabilizer, and I have NO bumpsteer with 32" street tires.

    I have a hybrid CJ7/CJ5 steering shaft

And the original column was modified with parts I had, or reused parts in the column

The plate that original mounted to the top of the box now mounts to the floor. My buddy and I built plates to sandwich the floor and reinforce it where the steering mounts to it. You can see the plate in the next pic.
