OK, Odie is an early M38A1, but Ima guessing this ain't the right grill. Can anybody tell me what vintage this is? And what's the funky brackets on the bottom?

    Pretty sure - modified '72-on.

The '72-on has the radiator recessed into the grill, like this one. The radiator mounts are on the back side of the radiator, so it fits into the grille.

The brackets on the bottom look like PO mods to me - just what they had on hand. This style of grille normally mounts with a big rubber donut in the center of the front crossmember. That bracket and some of the bottom of the grill has been cut away.

Thanks Tim! Thought it might be something like that. I bet it came from the same Jeep the axles came from. Those brackets are probably cradles for the radiator. This Jeep was setup for an SBC, the front xmember of the frame was cut out and a piece of channel welded in.
